the holidays.

It's been a REALLY LONG TIME since I've updated. A lot of interesting things happened.

First of all, I would like to wish everyone a late Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. And to those whose birthdays have passed since the 20th of Dec till now, Happy Birthday.

My cousins and I spent some time with each other. One day, the younger cousin brought her fairy cupcake mix from australia and she and I made them together. It comes with "edible fairy glitter". so cute. we cut off the tops of the cupcakes and used them to make wings for the cupcakes. tasted nice.

One morning, the whole troop of us went to Botanic Gardens. MP and I used our free entry coupons to the National Orchid Gardens while the other 3 went for a long walk with Lucky to the big tree at another part of the gardens. Needless to say, we all had a lot of fun. the night before, the 2 of them slept over.

For christmas, i didn't get many presents compared to when i was a little girl. I'm contented nevertheless. I definetely received fewer useless presents. (i'm not going to use that not-so-pretty handphone pouch. that i gave to my maid who liked it.) I got a lot of chocolate. who wants some? i'm not a snacker.

i know it's a bit late but here's a list of appropriate gifts to give me, regardless of occasion.

1.) treat me to lunch
2.) treat me to movie
3.) treat me to ice-skating
4.) a pair of earstuds
5.) a pen i can use in school
6.) No.1 Ladies Detective agency storybooks. (I don't have the 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th books)

i'm an undemanding person so i don't ask for much.

On christmas day, we had a big wonderful dinner at home, with some of my cousins' families eating at our place. first time i had lamb. only small pieces. i don't think i would appreciate the strong odour of lamb too much. i helped daddy prepare the lamb by pounding garlic and ginger.

On new year's eve, i didn't catch the fireworks. instead, i went back to church for watchnight service. surprisingly, our pastor was early!, in that he announced the arrival of the new year 4 minutes ahead of the actual new year. then he continued his sermon and was late, again. we finished at 1.30am. I partook in holy communion. after service, mum and the 3 of us girls drove down to Boon Tong Kee (which we call Mun Tong Kay) and bought home 3 bowls of chicken porridge. yummy stuff.

Now, the next piece of news might come as a shock to you.

On the 30th Dec 2006, saturday, i was having cheerleading practice. Something happened and the flyer fell. (it's not the flyer's fault. she's the best flyer we have and she's a very good locker.) It was my duty as loader to catch her, so I did. Her arm hit my left cheekbone. I was in pain. I got up by myself and went to the toilet. besides a bit of blood in my nose and teeth (because of braces, but the braces held my teeth in place), i thought i was fine. i was a bit blur like sotong, really blur. I felt i wouldn't be able to focus properly and this could compound the safety of the flyer, so decided to go home.

Ms Hon and I waited for my mum at the front of the school . i felt a bit woozy and wanted to sleep. when i got to the car, i felt like vomitting and threw up the water i had drank earlier into the drain. Mum rushed me to Raffles Hospital. She suspected a concussion. "Don't go to sleep! Stay awake!" she told me. I knew that if I fell asleep, no one would know if i fell into a coma. MP and MT accompanied me to A&E. I lay on a bed and after the nurses and doctor checked me, i was allowed to sleep.

I had a CT scan, a X-ray around my entire head, it's like many many x-rays of different parts of the head. I lay down on the machine and the camera spun around. The scan was upstairs on level 2. I was wheeled to the location on the bed. i covered my face with a blanket. it was embarrasing. it was quite fun except for the lift ride. i felt my guts and head fluids moving. gaawwhh...

The CT scan showed i didn't have any internal injuries. i had a mild concussion. I could've gone home but mum wanted me to be warded for 1 day. She felt I wasn't stable enough and the car-ride could make me feel sick and compound things. I was wheeled up from A&E, again, to my room on the 9th floor. It was my first time in hospital ever.

That night, i ate the hosptial dinner. it wasn't bad. after eating half of it, i vomitted it out because i was still having the effects of the concussion. i ate again and vomitted again.

Now, a specialist was called from home to come and see me. he was called at 4pm+. it was 7.30pm and he still hadn't arrived so Mum wanted to cancel it but he was already on his way.(how rude for a doctor) Mum got agitated. When she found out that the name of the doctor, she asked if he was a young man.

This big-build old man came into the room with a booming voice, (apparently bossing people around). "I came all the way down. I can check her or not, it's up to you, but i'm going to charge you anyway," he said. Mum agreed to let him check me. I was declared fine.

When he left, mum explained to me who he was. He was the person who killed my grandfather.

No wonder she was so agitated when she heard the name PETER GOH. He was my uncle's very good friend, probably a rugger too (my uncle was a rugger and has a big-build.) He also was a president's scholar. But he was CARELESS. My grandfather had 2 stomach ulcers but he only removed one in the operation. the other ulcer exploded and killed my grandfather.

and my grandfather wasn't a one-off case. There were many other patients who died because of PETER GOH. Mum wanted to sue him but there was no professional witness. Until one family found a canadian doctor who witnessed against him and PETER GOH was struck off the register. Shockingly, he's back in service now as a neurosurgeon.

after i vomitted out my dinner the second time, the nurses called him back. he hadn't been gone for long. He wanted to put me on a drip but mum asked to first see if i could hold water. if i couldn't, i would be on drip. he agreed. after he left, i came out of the toilet. Mum knew i didn't like the idea of having a needle in me and being dripped.

i was so scared of taking the medicine he gave me to stop me from vomitting. after it was confirmed to be Mercillon(how to spell?) by the nurses did i then dare to take it. Mum knows mercillon is safe to take.

Mum is an experienced patient. She knows a lot about medicine, sometimes more than the nurses. She had on some occasions sent back the medication because the nurses gave her the wrong one. Perhaps she can rival some idiot doctors that do exists. (i had an encounter with an idiot doctor before, who gave me eye-drops that were meant to be given only if virus as the cause of my red eyes were eliminated, when he diagnosed me as having virus in my eyes. No wonder the eye drops were so painful.)

The next day, Ms Hon, coach, Rachel and Glenn came to visit me. I was fine already and could hold down food. Thanks so much for coming. I also would like to thank those who asked me if i'm fine in school for their concern. Thank you.

I'm fine already. The only thing that remains is the loss of sensation on part of the left side of my face, exactly on the half side of the middle part of my face. the nerve got damaged but sensation should return in months. it's quite a weird feeling when touching it and when brushing teeth.

So, do not EVER let Dr. Peter Goh examine you. When i was in school, i explained it to my friends and i was really agitated. I was very "ji dong" my friend described me. I really disapprove of that person, that murderer.

School's reopened. Now I'm in J2. Time flies so quickly. I have to study for the lecture tests coming up. also gotta do homework. i don't quite understand the lecture on macroeconomy. The nitrogen compounds are interesting, especially since I didn't take bio. On thursday i was late for school, missed the entire marikita and arrived near the end of the principal's speech. the whole family had only 1 car, which was borrowed from someone. Mum's car had an accident and needed to reshape and replace the left headlight area, while my father's car's radiator was leaking. We left the house late. Next day, i was much earlier. yay!

I hope my cousins can stay over for dinner today. One of my cousins is looking at what i am typing. oh. they're going for dinner at my auntie's place. oh well.

last night, i stayed over at Raffles the Plaza. Mum redeemed her free night's stay there. the beds were so comfortable, and there was a rain shower! there's a balcony in the room too. MP and I had a wonderful time using the shower and bubble bath. the water keeps splashing out of the sink though. That night, the 3 of us, MP KM and I, walked around the bay area, from raffles city to esplanade to merlion, to the war memorial and back. KM completed 10000 steps. yay! i like walking. this part of the city, especially the merlion esplanade area is my favourite part of the city. St. Andrew's cathedral is there too.

the service at raffles was very good. i had a heavy tea-time cum dinner at "kopitiam", which was a restaurant. It was expensive but we're paying for quality and quantity. Breakfast was there too, at the breakfast buffet. I didn't eat my money's worth which is a bit sad but i really couldn't stuff anything else into me lest i puke.

back to work.

i'm feeling...
